2020 was a year of many transformations in the market, and Tramontina is both attuned to and active in the new global scenarios. Around the world there have been many opportunities to expand the company's operations through actions, new releases, new stores and partnerships in all corners of the globe.
In the United States, we released our new Nesting Cookware Set, a set of pans focusing on space saving, perfect for compact kitchens, through a marketing campaign on social media and on Google search. Another new release for North American consumers is the Tri-Ply Clad cookware set, specially designed for Walmart USA. Well-known in the market, this line gained a new distinctive design and glass lids – and is already a sales hit.
Beyond the kitchen, new markets emerged for gardening tools. As of 2020, our gardening tools can be found in popular stores in the United States, such as Walmart, Lowe's and The Home Depot.
After the creation of the new sales modality in foreign currencies in Cuba - the freely convertible currency (FCC) - the project for selling Tramontina appliances in this Latin American country took shape and retailers can now sell 4 and 5 burner cooktops from our Standard line. The first delivery has been finalized, with 1.5k units shipped, and we expect to ship another 3.2k pieces to Cuba by the start of 2021.
In 2020, Tramontina's partnerships brought new products to foreign markets. In Cambodia, where the company has been present since 2017, we opened our first shop-in-shop of the country, strengthening our brand in the local market with the variety of products available for making Cambodian consumers' lives easier.
In Singapore, the public can now find Tramontina Garden tools. In a partnership with one of the biggest players in the hardware market in this country, the company expanded its operations to reach other sectors.
Another international partnership with encouraging results was established in Dubai, with the high standard retailer Better Life, located in prestigious shopping malls around the country. Since May 2020, clients can benefit from our main product lines, such as Lyon, Grano, Trento, Churrasco, Century and Sushi.
Fifteen years after we first arrived in the Middle East, Tramontina decided to build its own distribution center in the Dubai Industrial Park. With this expansion, the company seeks to increase the presence of its products across the Middle East and neighboring regions and increase the availability of products and services.
Other news for Tramontina Dubai is the entry into the Home Center sector in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman. Clients already have access to a variety of products in stores of the Landmark Group, one of the largest retailers in the Middle East and India, with over 100 stores in the most prominent cities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
